TrustDocs are secure, tamper-resistant documents that can be verified digitally and provide evidence of their issuing authority to prevent document fraud. Even the slightest change to their contents, including images such as logo or video as part of the document, is detected during verification.
When you open a TrustDoc on a trusted verifier such as trustdocs.gov.sg/verify , checks are conducted to ensure that:

- the issuing party of the document is recognised.
- the document contents remain unchanged from the time of issuance.
- the document has not been revoked by the issuing party.
trustdocs.gov.sg provides additional assurance that your document is supported by the Singapore Government.
Your TrustDocs may come in one of four forms: .trustdoc file, trustdoc.pdf file, .html file or QR code.
- For .trustdoc files, users can upload them to trustdocs.gov.sg/verify to check if they are authentic and supported by the Singapore government.
- For trustdoc.pdf files, while users can view them in PDF readers, they are only previews and their contents have not been verified. To view and verify the actual contents, go to trustdocs.gov.sg/verify and upload the trustdoc.pdf.
- For .html files, users can simply open them, and they will be directed to trustdocs.gov.sg/verify to and view the files.
- In cases where in-person verification is necessary, TrustDocs will come with QR codes. Scanning the will lead users directly to trustdoc.gov.sg/verify to open and view the file.
Users must be connected to the Internet as TrustDocs must be verified using an online verifier. This is the security feature of TrustDocs – unlike regular PDFs or other file formats.
Our verification process ensures that the documents you view are thoroughly checked for accuracy and validity before being presented to you. We avoid displaying partially checked documents to prevent accidental disclosure of important details, thereby adding an extra layer of security.

Rest assured that trustdocs.gov.sg does not store any personal data when verifying or viewing your documents. However, when deciding whom to share your TrustDocs with, it's important to exercise the same level of discretion as you would with your documents today.
A revoked TrustDoc is not the same as an expired TrustDoc.
An issuing party may decide to revoke a document due to errors, incorrect issuance, or if an incident occurs after issuance, deeming the document to be no longer valid. In the case of a revoked TrustDoc, it will not be viewable or displayed on trustdocs.gov.sg as it can no longer be trusted.
On the other hand, an expired TrustDoc simply signifies that the document has reached the end of its validity duration. Whether or not a document remains viewable after it expires may be at the discretion of the issuing party based on the document's purpose. For example, an expired document may still need to be shown to authorities to apply for a renewal.
